Who me? Ok, if it’s free!
On Thursday evening I got an email from Blizzard with a BETA Burning Crusade key. I don’t know how they select their closed BETA testers, but I think they made the right choice with me – I have all the time in the world (outside work) to play this and test it for them due to no guild responsibilities, and no PvP grinding lust left.
I copied my Hunter over to both the PvP and PvE realms, and named them both Sleuth. The reason for this was to level on the PvE realm as the best talent specialization that I could think of to level with, and specialize for Raid/PvP on the PvP realm.
For PvE specialization I used the Beast Mastery and Marksmanship trees (Level 60, Level 70) and for PvP specialization I used the Survival and Marksmanship trees (Level 60, Level 70). I have some screen shots of my stats with both talents applied:
BM/MM Specialization
Survival/MM Specialization
(Please take a look at my Hunter’s CTProfiles page for gear.)
Overall, they aren’t much different. I seem to get more damage out of my BM/MM build, but that is purely because I am solo right now. The Survival/MM build looks promising at level 70 but until then will remain bland.
I have already encountered (what I think is) a bug with the game. I was killing some demons for a quest, I ran out of mana, so I sat down to drink some Filtered Draenic Water when suddenly I was disconnected. So, I rejoined the server, only to find myself placed back at the NPC where I received the quest – annoying, but never mind. I didn’t notice it for a while, but when I started to really use up my mana, it was being replenished at 350+ mana per tick (just as if I was drinking). This gave me basically infinite mana even while casting! I had to leave and log off, but I was pretty impressed by this bug!
I’ll keep posting updates about this so stay tuned!

Grats to your beeing picked for beta testing.
Thanks man! I’m very behind though, there’s lots of level 70s flying around, makes me feel small
