iTunes to Offer Movie Rentals

The next release of iTunes will allow users to rent movies over the service, giving you a 30 day window after choosing to rent the movie, and giving you a 24-hour period within which to finish watching it once you’ve sat down and hit the play button for the first time.

Users will have to get the new 7.6 version if iTunes to download rented movies, which will also requires QuickTime 7.4 to actually watch the movies.

I’m not a fan of Apple computers. They seem to take pride in the appearance of their hardware, like they’re more of a fashion company than a technology giant. However, their latest product, the MacBook Air is the world’s thinnest laptop, weighing just 1.36kg and while it still proves my point, it does seem appealing.

Compare this to the ASUS Eee PC and you might find you start asking yourself “what exactly do I want a laptop do to?”

I’ll be waiting for the up-coming 10inch model of the Eee PC, the 1001, due in Q2 2008.
