I’d like to apologise to everyone who may have visited my site and (I think) been infected with a virus, or redirected to another page… I’m not sure exactly what was happening since I didn’t want to test it. But anyway, I was hacked or something, which was placing an iframe at the top of every page on my site.

Luckily I use google syndication which was editing my served pages to visitors and removing the harmful infection, but for now my site is listed as potentially dangerous.

The solution to this was not just to remove the infection, but to upgrade WordPress completely to 2.5. I bet this still has vulnerabilities but I can’t really do much about that right now.

Apologies again, but I assure everyone I fixed it!

This morning at around 9:00am I began receiving SMTP server responses claiming my messages were not delivered to all recipients. The email addresses I had allegedly sent emails to were mostly Russian (.ru) and some Slovakian (.sk), which were unknown to me, and I had certainly not sent any emails to them.

Inspecting the message responses showed I was listed as the sender and the return-path for these messages, and provided me with the original email which was some sort of Russian spam for a website (which I obviously don’t want to list here to give them exposure).

If anyone is arriving at this domain looking for answers as to why I’m sending out spam emails in Russian to them, please let it be known it wasn’t me. I’m merely a victim in this situation and although I can’t remove my email address (because of its wide-spread importance to me) I can make this post to explain why I should not be to blame.

Thanks for your understanding!
